b'Innovation AwardCrumlin The CourtyardFollowing a continued period of staff sickness and shortages the Courtyard service became heavily reliant on agency staff for a time. They recognised the impact of this on the overall quality of the service and wanted to reduce the impact as much as possible. While on the side working on boosting recruitment, they created a service-specific package to ensure the agency staff were inducted and trained to the highest of standards. During an unannounced RQIA inspection in Dec 22 positive feedback was given on the creation of these systems and the ability to audit these systems as a way of ensuring a quality service. Staff feedback was also positive as it ensured they were working to a higher standard through the benefits of good induction, supervision and opportunities for training.65'
