Praxis Care celebrated 40 years on 3 July 2024
On 3 July, Praxis Care celebrated a significant milestone—our 40th anniversary as a leading organisation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals we support. The celebrations were nothing short of spectacular, with over 40 events hosted across all our locations.
Team Leader Louise Lyons; Mayor of Derry City and Strabane Lilian Seenoi-Barr, SDLP leader and MP for Foyle Colum Eastwood and Regional Director Rosemary Doherty
The festivities ranged from intimate garden parties to grand events at hotels, featuring an incredible mix of special guests who came together to celebrate our journey. In Northern Ireland, we were honoured by the presence of the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane, Lilian Seenoi-Barr, and the SDLP leader and MP for Foyle, Colum Eastwood, while Health Minister Mike Nesbitt took the time to get to know the people we support at Foyle CONNECTS. In England, Deputy Mayor of Kidderminster Town, Doug Hine, planted a tree in the grounds of Coombe House and in the Republic of Ireland, Mayor of Navan Eddie Fennessy joined us, along with many more VIPs who supported our events across all locations.
Public buildings in various cities were illuminated in our iconic colours—purple and teal. These beautiful displays of light not only highlighted our anniversary but also symbolised the bright future we continue to build for those we support. Among the buildings lit up were Belfast City Hall, Derry City and Strabane District Council, The Alley Theatre, Cork City Hall, Dublin City Hall, Douglas City Hall, Mullingar Arts Centre, The Tower of Refuge, The Rock of Cashel, The 19 Arches Bridge, Ramsey Town Hall, The National Space Centre, Whittle Arch, Christchurch Spire, Greyfriars Walk and Leinster House.
The Croft
The celebrations themselves were just as remarkable. The Croft hosted its very own colour run and Windermere delighted attendees with a sensory farm, creating an engaging and interactive experience for all. Cork’s Gala was an unforgettable afternoon of elegance and festivity while arts, crafts, magic and music filled the air in Derry. And these were just a few highlights!
Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this amazing milestone. Here’s to many more years of making a difference together.
