Antrim DISH
Antrim DISH is a housing support service for adults located in Co Antrim. We support adults with complex needs, such as mental ill health. We provide intensive housing support 7...
Praxis Care offers a wide range of specialist support services to people with autism and their families. We understand that Autism affects every individual differently and influences how a person communicates and relates to other people. Indeed people with Autism may see, experience and understand the world around them in a different way.
Praxis Care is committed to understanding each individual and the unique complexities which surround their diagnosis in order to provide bespoke accommodation and support tailored to the needs of each individual.
Praxis Care provides accommodation and support services for children and young people with a learning disability and/or autism, providing long term care or short breaks to help families continue to maintain their children at home. We recognise that every young person is unique and we work with families to understand their needs and translate that into support that is right for them.
We also have extensive experience working with young people who are making that, often difficult, transition to adulthood. We aim to offer assurance and optimism by designing the support package with the family and young person. Praxis Care staff are dedicated in helping each child reach their full potential and develop the skills required to transition into adulthood. Young people are supported to identify and develop their interests and be active citizens in their communities.
The individuals we support at Lurgan DISH continued with their Recovery Model Discussion Group this month and it was even more uplifting than the first! They were joined by representatives from The Southern Trust Recovery College and other community groups.
The second session focused on key areas like communication, education and peer support. The group also explored developing a potential action plan to create real change for individuals on their recovery journey and to strengthen connections between the medical and social model approaches.
The group is looking forward to continuing their journey and meeting again in March to build on their progress.
A big thank you to everyone involved! 💜

Last week, we had the privilege of exhibiting at and attending the Community Connections Conference hosted by Business in the Community and NICVA at Allstate Northern Ireland.
The event brought together businesses and voluntary organisations to explore how meaningful partnerships can help address critical societal challenges.
We also engaged in insightful case studies and discussions that highlighted successful collaborations and their impact.
It was fantastic to connect with other exhibitors, share ideas and gain inspiration from best practice examples. Thank you to the organisers and everyone involved!

Was great to have you there!
The Lurgan Road Day Service crew recently had a fantastic time visiting the Tayto factory, where they got a behind-the-scenes look at how the iconic crisps are made.
The highlight? Meeting the one and only Mr. Tayto himself! 🤩
